Each year, the Queen's Court selects two deserving charities to be the recipients of the all funds raised by the annual Queen of Hearts Ball. Since the Queen's Court is operated solely by volunteers, 100% of all proceeds raised by the Ball are distributed directly to the two selected charities. Remarkably, well over $1,950,000 has been raised by the Queen's Court, over the years, in support of a variety of charitable, cultural, and educational organizations. The Queen's Court is honored to announce that this year's 2021 Queen of Hearts Ball charitable recipients are Ready for Life and the Morean Arts Center .
Ready for Life provides support, resources and guidance for former foster care youth who need to successfully transition to adulthood. We are a family-like community that serves, inspires and empowers young adults that have transitioned out of foster care (and their children) to be Ready for Life. Ready for life serves youth in Pinellas Counties 15 – 25 years old that are in foster care or have already transitioned out and are on their own. The youth RFL serves exit the foster care system regardless of their housing situation, support system or knowing that they have what they need to be successful on their own. At RFL we help fill in life skills, learning gaps and remove barriers so the youth can reach self-sufficiency.
For the past one hundred years, the organization known today as the Morean Arts Center has been a resource and a destination for artists and art lovers. The Arts Center has kept pace with the rapidly expanding world of art. Today the Morean Arts Center offers programs for all mediums, styles, skill levels and ages. The Morean Arts Center continues to be a driving force within St. Petersburg's art scene and providing a place of creativity, innovation and exploration.
